UNVEILING....the game board! (part.1)
Want to know the first part of our game board?
Hello everybody! If you are reading this post means that you are curious to know how our game board is developed.
We were very lucky to have found Alan D’Amico who is taking care of the graphic game design. Alan has worked on great games and now he brings his experience and talent to Brides&Bribes.
After the first meeting where Alan gave us great advices he has started to design the game board.
First, I’d like to give you more details about our game board. It is big, very big: 560x840 mm. Why so big? Because during the game, players have to place many tiles on it and we have other components as well (money, influence points, workers, meeples coaches …).
The game board is divided into 5 boroughs; each represents an area of Genoa. In the game, you lose yourself in a Renaissance Genoa: walking near the pier, listening the sound of the vessel arriving, bargaining in the square of the merchants in a crowd shouting….So, which style could be good enough to give you this feeling?
That was not easy to decide, we discussed a lot and at the end, we decided for a comic design style inspired by a real Genoa map of the 15th century.
Below you can see Alan at work, designing one of the five borough: the market!
What do you think? It gives you the feeling to be in a Renaissance Genoa?
It's still a draft but we hope to show you more in the next days!
